What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide
Glass, heat resistant
Heat-resistant heat-treated, and heat-tempered glass, such as glass bake and ovenware, cookware, glass pot and pan lids, and food storage containers, are not recyclable and are not accepted in curbside recycling carts or at the Drop-Off Station or Recovery Yard.
Heat resistant glass items that are gently used, clean, and in good usable condition are accepted for donation at locations throughout the A2 Area Reuse Network.
Recycle Right!
Do not put heat-resistant, heat-treated, and heat-tempered glass in your curbside recycling cart. Heat-resistant glass is made of a different type of glass that is treated to withstand high and low temperatures and melts at different temperatures than the glass used to make jars and bottles. If such glass is mixed with recyclable glass, it will contaminate it. Using the wrong type of glass to make food jars and bottles can make them more fragile and less durable.
Choose Zero Waste!
Repurpose your glass cookware for uses like a candy dish, planter, or organizational tool. Donating unwanted but still usable items instead of throwing them away is the best way to ensure they get reused!
