Window glass/panes is not recyclable. Window glass/panes in poor, unusable condition is accepted as general waste at the Drop-Off Station and Recovery Yard for safe disposal.
Recycle Right!
Do not put window glass, broken or otherwise in your curbside recycling cart. Window glass is not recyclable because it is made of a different type of glass than food jars and bottles and melt at different temperatures. If such glass is mixed with recyclable glass, it will contaminate it. Window glass can be dangerous. If donating or disposing, pack it safely to ensure it will not be able to cut you or our staff at the Drop-Off Station or Recovery Yard.
Choose Zero Waste!
Keep your windows in good condition for as long as possible! You can repurpose old windows as art or use them to build a greenhouse. Additionally, you can list your windows for sale on websites like Facebook Marketplace.
