What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide

Pesticides

Pesticides are substances that are used to control pests and are considered hazardous substances. Pesticides are accepted at Washtenaw County's Home Toxics disposal site for proper disposal.

Recycle Right!

Do not put pesticides or empty pesticide containers in your curbside recycling cart or trash bin. The hazardous chemicals create dangerous conditions for our workers and could contaminate an entire load of recyclables, and groundwater. Dispose of pesticides safely at the Washtenaw County Home Toxics site.

Choose Zero Waste!

Choose organic or biodegradable alternatives to herbicides that are environmentally friendly. Try these sustainable alternatives to weed killer. For insecticide alternatives, try using collars at the base of plants, Venus flytraps or other trap plants, handpick pests off plants, practice companion planting, employ strategic planting techniques, etc.
