What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide
Oil filters
Oil filters are accepted for recycling at the Drop-Off Station.
Recycle Right!
Oil filters contain used oil, which is a hazardous material and must be properly recycled. Do NOT put oil or oil filters in your curbside recycling cart or trash as it is extremely dangerous and flammable. The hazardous chemicals create dangerous conditions for our workers and could contaminate an entire load of recyclables, turning them into trash and not recycled.
Choose Zero Waste!
Used motor oil is highly recyclable; it can be re-refined into new oil, processed into fuel oils, and used as raw materials for the petroleum industry. Oil filters contain both used oil and steel, both of which are valuable nonrenewable resources.
