What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide
Medical supplies - needles, syringes, and sharps
Medical needles, syringes, and sharps are hazardous materials and are accepted at Washtenaw County's Home Toxics disposal site.
Recycle Right!
Sharps ("sharps" is a broad term used to describe lancets and syringes with attached needles) are not recyclable. Medical needles, syringes, lancets and other medical sharps should never be placed into a recycling or trash cart, where they can potentially break open and injure workers. Medical sharps are contaminated the instant after they are used, so it is important to dispose of them immediately after use.
Choose Zero Waste!
Only use medical needles, syringes, and sharps in a medical environment where they have specific boxes for used needles.
