What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide

Eyeglasses

Sunglasses and reading glasses that are in good, reusable condition are accepted at some A2 Area Reuse Network locations. Prescription eyeglasses can be donated to any Ann Arbor Host Lions Club drop-off location.

Recycle Right!

Do not put eyeglass lenses in your curbside recycling cart. Eyeglass lenses are made of a different type of glass than food jars and bottles and melt at different temperatures. If such glass is mixed with recyclable glass, it will contaminate it. Using the wrong type of glass to make food jars and bottles can make them more fragile and less durable.

Choose Zero Waste!

Donating unneeded eyeglasses is the best way to ensure that they will be reused.

Ann Arbor Host Lions Club has locations throughout Washtenaw County that accept used glasses for optical missions worldwide.

While we do our best to stay updated on alternative reuse and recycling locations, we recommend that you call locations before taking your item(s) to confirm that they currently accept them.
