What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide
Tissue Paper (gift wrap)
Tissue paper used for gift wrapping is not recyclable because it is made from recycled paper and is very thin, so the fibers are too small to go through the recycling process again. However, tissue paper that is free of plastic coating, dyes, and non-paper additives such as glitter can be composted.
Recycle Right!
Do not put tissue paper in your curbside recycling cart. Tissue paper is not recyclable and will contaminate other recyclables.
Choose Zero Waste!
Save tissue paper to reuse for future gifts or purchase gift wrap from thrift stores. Consider using reusable gift wrap options like fabric bags, scarves, tea towels, unique boxes, or tins.
