What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide

Silicone

Silicone is a hybrid between a synthetic rubber and a synthetic plastic polymer and is not recyclable. The idea behind silicone products is that they are designed to last significantly longer than other types of plastic, which reduces the need for recycling these items.

Recycle Right!

Do not put silicone into your curbside recycling cart as this type of material is not an accepted material for recycling and will contaminate other recyclables.

Choose Zero Waste!

Many silicone products, such as Stasher bags (which are reusable Ziploc bags), are considered 'zero waste' because they are designed for long-term use. If you have silicone items that you can no longer use for their original purpose, consider repurposing them or using them for an art project. Reusing is the best alternative to single-use plastic.
