What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide
Tires, car, truck
Car tires under 16 inches, truck/SUV tires over 16 inches, and tires with rims are accepted for recycling at the Drop-Off Station and Recovery Yard. Bicycle tires and tubes are not recyclable but are accepted for safe disposal as general waste.
Recycle Right!
Tires can be recycled but should not be recycled into surfacing that children come into contact with due to their lead content. Tires cannot be processed through the curbside recycling system, they can jam up the machinery, causing damage and delays, and create unsafe conditions for our workers. Tires are also banned from Michigan landfills, so do not place them in or next to your waste or recycling carts!
Choose Zero Waste!
Try repurposing tires! Local high schools use them for sports conditioning.
