What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide

Insecticide

Insecticides, often referred to as insect killers, are classified as pesticides and considered toxic substances and are accepted for proper disposal at Washtenaw County's Home Toxics disposal site.

Recycle Right!

Do not put insecticide or empty insecticide containers in your curbside recycling cart or trash bin. The hazardous chemicals create dangerous conditions for our workers and could contaminate an entire load of recyclables, and groundwater. Dispose of insecticides safely at the Washtenaw County Home Toxics site.

Choose Zero Waste!

Choose organic or biodegradable alternatives to insecticides that are environmentally friendly. For example, use collars at the base of plants, venus flytraps or other trap plants, handpick pests off plants, practice companion planting, employ strategic planting techniques, etc.
