What To Do With Return to A-Z Guide

Silverware, metal

Metal silverware that is gently used, clean, and in good usable condition is accepted for donation at locations throughout the A2 Area Reuse Network.

Metal silverware that is in poor, unusable condition is accepted as scrap metal for recycling at the Drop-Off Station and Recovery Yard. Metal can be infinitely recycled without losing quality.

Recycle Right!

Clean silverware before donating. Silverware is typically made from different types of metals, such as stainless steel or silver. Silverware is not accepted in curbside recycling carts but can be recycled as scrap metal. Metal can be infinitely recycled without losing quality, please don't throw metal items in the trash, recycle them instead.

Choose Zero Waste!

Keep and reuse silverware for as long as possible. Reusing is the best alternative to single-use plastic cutlery. To keep your silverware in good condition, clean it regularly to avoid tarnishing. If your silverware is no longer fit for food use, consider repurposing it for crafting or DIY projects in your home. If not possible, donating your unwanted but still usable items is the best way to ensure they get reused!

While we do our best to stay updated on alternative reuse and recycling locations, we recommend that you call locations before taking your item(s) to confirm that they currently accept them.
