As a nonprofit organization, Recycle Ann Arbor relies on the support of volunteers in many capacities to help bring the best service to our customers. Volunteer for as little as a few hours per year up to regular weekly hours. Unless noted, you must be 18 or older to volunteer with Recycle Ann Arbor.
Check out our volunteer page on United Way of Washtenaw County!
Both the ReUse Center & Drop-Off Station are an “open-air” facility and can fluctuate in temperature greatly - especially in the very cold months. Please wear layered clothing to be comfortable inside/outdoors. Clothing that is “quick-dry” (not jeans or cloth-boots) is encouraged during wet and cold weather.
If you have a large group (more than 5 individuals), please contact us 1-2 weeks in advance so we can try to accommodate your organization with a project. Volunteer assistance is always welcome in a variety of areas:
Drop-Off Station (DOS)
2950 East Ellsworth Road • Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30-6:30 • Saturday, 9-6
Customer assistance, sorting of recyclable materials, traffic direction, and special projects are some of the many ways that volunteers can help out at the Drop-Off Station (DOS), the state’s largest community recycling center. Volunteers must be age 18 or older. Small groups only, please. Community service volunteers accepted. Call (734) 971-7400 for opportunities to volunteer.
